Mission Purpose – To bring compassionate care and the message of the Gospel to the people of Ateos, in El Salvador.
Mission History: The first mission trip to Ateos, El Salvador was in 2015. To date, HHMM has conducted 10 missions to this region of the world. A total of over 300 missionaries have attended to the needs of over 15,300 patients.
The overall impact has been positive, we have been able to develop good relationships with many people in the region. Our future plans include continuing to work in Ateos, Sacacoyo, Cuisnahuat, and San Pablo Tacachico. Our team has been well received by the communities in need. We have the support of the local Catholic Church, and the Health Ministry continues to grant us the necessary permits.
Local Needs – The mission setting is both Urban and rural. Local maladies include: Hypertension, diabetes, respiratory and gastric infections, skin diseases, etc.
Additional Services: Helping Hands Missionaries have teamed up with international and local water filtration companies to offer the people of the region cleaner drinking water thus helping with the prevention of gastrointestinal infections.
Non-Surgical: This is not a surgical mission.

- Dentistry: Dentists and Dental Hygienists
- Optometrists
- Pharmacists and pharmacy Techs
- Nursing: RN’s and LVN’s
- Physical Therapist and Chiropractor
- Counseling
- Natural Family Planning Instructors
- Non-medical volunteers
- Spanish Translators

Requirements
Prerequisites
- ALL missionaries must complete HHMM application
- All adults need to submit proof of up-to-date Virtus/Safe Environment training (renewed every 3 years)
- All adults need to submit a Background Check (renewed every 6 years)
- Valid Passport - expiration date must be 6 months after trip return date
- Licensed Medical Providers ONLY: must provide an apostille copy of your license and CV
Responsibilities
- Am I ready to live in a place with only cold water in which to shower?
- Can I sleep on the floor, in a sleeping bag, or on a mattress?
- Am I ready for long days of hard work?
- Am I committed to serving others and following a program that is pre-arranged for me?
- Am I healthy enough to participate in a program that may be physically demanding?
- Am I ready to merge into other cultures by being flexible and patient in dealing with unexpected inconveniences?
- Am I willing to fundraise for my trip to help those less fortunate?

- Make Flight Arrangements
- Take necessary vaccines
- Share your missionary page with family and friends to raise funds for the mission.
